The tree felling was done to a very high standard. Care was taken to bring down the tree in stages so that no damage was caused to the surroundings. Matt also very kindly gave some advice to me on pruning a couple of other trees, which was much appreciated. There were issues with communications, when our appointment on a previous day was cancelled without informing us. However, they took on board that we were not happy about the no-show and re-arranged for a few days later.

In October, quoted £800 to level and turf 80 sqm. Left the soil to harden. He came in April and remeasured. This time, it magically increased to 96 sqm and wanted £960. After completing without any levelling, there was still an area left. When asked to lay the excess turf in the truck, said it is for another customer and left. When I measured the turfed area, it came to 81 sqm. Contacted him to return the 15 sqm, wants another £200. Now asking not to contact, so leaving this feedback. Untrustworthy workman.

They arrived on time and did a good job overall. However, I was disappointed that the final charge was higher than the agreed fixed price, despite all the job details being provided upfront. The contractor was also invited to view the site before quoting, so the unexpected increase felt unfair

There would have been no point in complaining directly. You had made it clear you had other work. I was asked by Rated People for my views and I gave them. How unfair or not is entirely subjective. As the potential customer, surely my views should be accepted and taken into account by your business be them good or bad. I do not propose to continue with this email thread. Had a visit from A1 Gardening today and was very pleased with the service I received. The staff were polite and attentive at all times. They involved me in all the decisions made and made sure I was happy with every part of the job. They also cleaned every last leaf before they left, and took it all away with them
